Shall We Walk in the Philly Pride Parade 2015?

I apologize for my absence. I have been (as i've said a million times before and shall probably continue to say for a while) working a whole lot lately and haven't been able to post often. Ok my posts are quite random and I have 0 time management skills.

That said, I have been on the Straight Crossdressers and Friends Facebook group where during some recent discussions I came up with an idea.
We should participate in the Philly Pride Parade!
I feel that Straight Crossdressers are under represented especially in the LGBT world. Since Crossdressing falls into the very grey areas of the 'T' and Straight Crossdressers are rarely if ever represented in the 'T'...we should do something about it. I would like to have Straight Crossdressers represented in the Philly Pride Parade!

I first have to make sure it isn't too late to register (the website didn't say it was too late but I have to call to be sure). Meanwhile I will make a banner to be walked with or put onto a vehicle. So far the only people committed to it is myself and another GG friend... 2 GGs are not the greatest representation of Straight crossdressers...I mean we can dress as guys while we walk But I would LOVE it to have some Actual Straight Crossdressers participate as well (MtF & FtM).

Would YOU be willing to participate? Will you help US change how crossdressers are represented? Currently when people see people that they assume are crossdressers they automatically assume that they are interested in the same sex that they are assigned at birth (men interested in men, women interested in women). A Large majority of Crossdressers are interested in the opposite sex and the world at large doesn't recognize that they even exist. That includes many gay people who don't realize that straight crossdressers exist.

The parade is on Sunday June 14th, 2015.

WILL YOU WALK WITH ME?

Please let me know if you think you'd be available and would like to participate. You can email me at: StraightCrossdressers@gmail.com
More info can be found on the website: www.phillygaypride.org

See me at the LGBT Expo 2015 in NYC

Hello everyone. I know its been a while. I'll be singing and talking about this blog as well as the Straight Crossdressers and Friends Facebook Group. The awesome Appolonia Cruz will be hosting the at the LGBT Expo at the Video Lounge on Saturday February 28th & Sunday March 1st. My friend Frankie will be performing on Saturday and I will be singing on Sunday. After my song i'll sit down with Appolonia and we'll talk about what i'm hoping to accomplish which is acceptance of crossdressers and for people to be non-judgmental about how people, particularly crossdressers. People always assume that because a man wears womens clothing that 1: they want to BE women and 2: they want to date men (same thing for women who wear mens wear). Where both may be true for some people it is not true for everyone. Just because a man wears a dress we should assume nothing but that he likes the particular clothing he's wearing. We shouldn't assume his gender identity OR his sexual preference. We shouldn't assume that of anyone period.

I wonder if I can get anyone to record it for me this year...maybe i'll set up my camera for video again this year.

I've been sick...all year. Been to the doctor and they say its my allergies...Seriously??? My allergies make me feel like i have a really bad cold....which sux. I've been having throat pain and have not been singing for weeks. I think my performance is gonna be as bad as last year...the horror... Whatever. I'll make the best of it.

I do love you all and wish I had more time to post. I post a bit more on the facebook page. Straight Crossdressers and Friends Group (this is a closed group, you have to respond back to the message from one of the 3 admins to be added)
Here is the thing about the group. EVERYONE is screened. I explain the rules a bit and you have to agree to them, mostly to weed out spammers and people who are looking to date same sex as themselves crossdressers because most of the group is straight and hate being hit on by people of the same gender.
We still have our facebook page as well https://www.facebook.com/straightcrossdressers

I love you all and I will be posting more soon.

Perfectly Flawed - A Guest Post By Samantha Prescott

I have been extremely busy lately and haven't posted much lately. I apologize for that. I do have Awesome friends who are willing to help me out. This post is by Samantha and she's going to let you in on a bit of her life. I hope you enjoy and post your feelings about it here or you can chat about it in our Facebook Group or Page.

Take it away Sami.
*************************************************

Before I go back to the beginning and recant any recollection of when this all stared for me I will start with who I am at this exact moment.

My name is Samantha "Sami" Prescott and I am a soon to be 50 year old happily married heterosexual crossdresser. I revealed the innermost me to my wife very early on in our relationship. We were becoming very involved quickly and I knew I could not wait another second. I was born into something that I didn't have a choice or say in and my own life experience that who I am was never going to change or just go away, I knew that she needed to have a choice to stay or walk away. I needed to be free of the secrecy and shame that my life has been accustomed, and I owed it to both of us to be honest and upfront to insure that would be a foundation on which our relationship would be built. As a result, one of the hardest decisions I ever carried out in my life, and one of the biggest risks I decided to take, I am very blessed and fortunate to have a supportive and accepting wife who has encouraged me to not be ashamed of who I am. Without understanding she stayed and she has been the one and only reason that I have found acceptance and peace within myself.  Without her support I might not have ventured out from the safety and confines of my home.

I have been getting out and about for a little over 2 years now and have been working on my head to toe transformation and presentation for about 9 years, but 'I' have been a lifetime in the making. I am non-transitioning and very part time. I am closeted to everyone except my wife and I am not looking to make any drastic changes in my life nor seeking to come out and be full time. I do have a desire to get out a bit more often and know that I want to be able to be active in the community, provide help and support for other like myself, and also make a positive impact on those I interact with along the way.  Going a bit further in my self realization I also consider myself to be transgendered.  I know there is more to all of this than the clothes, I have no conflict with my gender, my identity, or my sexual preference. I do realize there is a duality that exists in me, a feminine aura, and a certain comfort and wholeness that comes with my drive and desire to nurture and outwardly express this part of me that I have hidden and denied for the largest part of my life.

Going all the way back I could make this very short and say the day I was born I fell right into a pair of panties and took off running. That could very well be but my earliest recollection was when I was probably around 4 or 5 years old. I was in one of my mother's satin nightgowns. It extended way past my feet so there was no chance of running to hide when she was half way up the stairs and quickly approaching. As she is calling I lifted the lid of the hamper and tumbled in to hide. The lid opened right after but the hiding lasted for the majority of years afterward. It was my attraction to silky and satiny clothing and everything that was hidden under what a woman wore underneath the top layer that everyone would see excited me. The feeling against my skin was then and is still now incredible. I don't know why back then at such a young age I was so conflicted that something that felt so good to me was something that made me feel as if I was doing something so wrong. It was also those thoughts way back then that had me keeping all those things to myself.

Within the next 2 or 3 years I was already into my mother's stockings, bras, panties, girdle's, pretty much everything and anything I could get my hands on. I was already hands on in self exploration before most boys or girls even had a clue as to what the real difference was between the sexes were. I can remember watching "Bewitched" through much different eyes than most children did, unless of course they were like me!

Elizabeth Montgomery, who played Samantha and who is the inspiration in my name, was just a witch who was a mom and a homemaker on the television show. She was so much more than that to me. She was the essence of woman-ity and femininity, she was everything that I adored about a woman and the thought of what she was wearing under her dress had me thinking way past my mother's lingerie drawers.

Then there was Jeannie, Ginger, and Mary Anne, the sitcom starlets who I wanted to emulate and larger than life when it came to how I was inspired by them. They were a vision of desire that I saw back then and very instrumental on how I present today.

Somewhere in that time frame my mother asked me what I wanted to be for Halloween, before that point I was never asked, she just slapped a costume on me and off I went. Well, given a choice the obvious answer was "A Girl" so she borrowed a bunch of things from one of her girlfriends daughter's. Little did I know that I would be in my glory and I certainly did not show it, there I was wearing a cute blue dress with a strawberry pattern on it, a pair of white tights, and a pair black patent Buster Brown Mary Jane flats. I was all anxious to run out the door to go Trick or Treating and my mother stopped me and said, "You're not ready yet".  She pulled a wig down on my head and smeared some rouge blush on my cheeks and said, "Now the girl is ready".  I can remember one  of the ladies that answered the door saying, "Aren't you just the prettiest little girl".  Halloween wasn't the only time I slipped back into that dress. I can say that memory still brings a smile to my face today because I was somewhat embarrassed by it at that time.

Two of the biggest disappointments after that was the day my mother returned the clothes to her girlfriend and years later when the day came that my feet would no longer fit into my mother's heels. So it wasn't long after that I had to muster up the courage to go and buy my first pair of heels. I also bought a bra, panties, and a matching garter-belt set and stockings which all became part of my first and only purge when I was married for the 1st time at 23 years old.

I thought that was going to be the end to my secret to never surface again. Not so, it was not long before I was back to dabbling and I decided to come clean shortly before the birth of my 1st child. It did not go over well and was something that was not accepted or supported. Over more than 10 years and the birth of several more children I lived my life secretly, hiding my dressing. I was made to feel as if I were a freak and deviant by my former wife. My dressing was always something that was a sore point and always used by her as a weapon to make me feel ashamed of myself or to belittle me.

Once that marriage ended and time passed I knew that I could never live that way again and also knew that if another relationship was to develop that I could not keep this part of me a secret. I have always lived my life and existed somewhere between blessed and cursed.

Back to where this story all started. Considering that I and my current wife never asked for any of these things to be a part of our lives, the only thing that I could ever hope for has become a reality for me. I have a wife who loves me for who I am as a person and someone I don't have to feel ashamed to be myself around. Cursed is no longer a part of the equation and as of now I am the closest to blessed that I could have ever hoped for, and a realization that although nothing in life will ever be perfect. I can accept and live with the fact that I am and will always be perfectly flawed.

Convo with a CD friend #1 of Many

I was talking to one of my Crossdressing friends the other day. We were talking about clothes, dressing, relationships and such. At some point she says,
*”You are very out there, why can't I be someone like that, loyal and honest and don't care [about what others think about you]?’

My Response: It takes a bit of...well...getting over yourself. I got over myself. Embarrassing things are gonna happen, people are gonna not like some things you do. People are gonna try to put you down, question is...how do you feel about you? Do you like what you do? Do you like who you are?
People come and go, you will be with you all of your life. You should take care of the inner you. The inner you wants to be happy. The inner you likes to dress a certain way and act a certain way. The inner you may want to look different every day. The inner you may wanna dress the same way for a week then totally change up. If you're with someone who can't deal with you being you...well...I don't see how making your inner self sad to make someone else happy will keep you happy for too long.

That was spewed out in the middle of the night when my friend was sleep. Later she responded:

“Wow Pebbles, You just broke it down, But you are right.  I see what you are saying, WE are some [of the] good men out there. Just because we want to dress like a woman doesn't mean we want to be with one or be gay or bi or anything like that.”

Me: Nearly all if not all of the CD dudes I chat with are really nice people & really 'good' guys. If a GG wants to be treated 'right' I highly recommend a CD. If the GG can get over themselves maybe they can find happiness in the arms of someone who just Might look better than them occasionally, lol. A lot of people don't get over themselves till they are way old. You don't see (some)old ladies not doing stuff or saying stuff just cause it might be embarrassing... life is too short to dwell on dumb stuff!

Later, We were discussing relationships again and the GG my CD friend is dating.

Me: I wanna say something which may come off pretty... 'guy-ish' and I'm not talkin’ nice guy... Here it goes. If you think she is your One, you should find a way to tell her you like to dress. If she's not...well...are you ready to drop her in a minute if you do find your 'one' who is fine with who you are?
I totally understand companionship. I didn't like being alone [when I was single].

Their response: ‘Well she’s somewhat one, but what is the one?... I'm 35 years old I don't know what to believe in that aspect. I would think the one would have come by now.

Me: So many of my CD/TG friends are with people who don't like a very real part of them...the emotional turmoil they go through because of it is really heartbreaking!
I had a friend show his girlfriend a picture of him en femme to come out to her. She thought he was really cute. They continued to date for a while, eventually they broke up, but not because of his dressing.

I wish I could talk to all the 'girlfriends that don't know' and ease them into the thought of it. CD guys (in my opinion) are just sooooo much easier to deal with than 'regular' guys. You Know what their major quirk is, that secret is gone! If you can deal with that, everything else will be a breeze to get through! And if you tell her & it doesn't work [or she thinks she can’t deal with it], well, you didn't invest TOO much time in a relationship that wouldn't work out in the end anyway

Why is a CD guys so much easier?

Me: More in touch with their feminine side...for example. [Some] Ladies sometimes (or all the times) wanna get their hair/nails etc done, right?

Yes they do.

Me: My ex hubby didn't understand that and to him it was kinda wasted money...his mom had to talk to him about that.

Oh yes we wouldn't mind getting ours done too.

Me: Exactly! No fight no fuss. That's something you can do together! Spa day, hello!

Later we went on to talk about how women may not like to participate in their significant other’s crossdressing. It’s like any other…we’ll say ‘hobby’ for this example. If I dislike something that someone likes to do, that doesn't mean I won't support the person who wants to do it. I may or may not join in on what they like to do. I may or may not be there every time they’re doing whatever it is they’re doing but I’m supportive. If someone I’m with likes table top gaming but I’m not into it. I wouldn’t put them down for it. I might try to play to see if maybe I could get to like it but if I just don’t like to do it myself…it’s just something I don’t like to do. They can continue with it. I might even make snacks to serve to the gamers or hang out and watch/listen to what’s going on.

I hope other people can be like that. If your significant other likes to dress in a way contrary to their gender type, would you be able to support them even if you’re not in to it? Can you help them with their hair and make-up so they can hang with their friends who also like to dress? Will you go to an event with them even though it’s not an event you want to go to all the time just to support them? It’s my hope that sometime soon this will no longer be considered a taboo…maybe even be considered a some-what normal occurrence.

That’s all I have to say for now. I hope you all have a GREAT DAY!!!

I will again be making an appearance at The Original GLBT Expo in NYC this weekend! I will be interviewed in the Video Lounge on Sunday. I’ll Have pictures and my experience from there to share with you soon!

Love,

Pirate Pebbs

Support Matters - Guest Post by Chardonnay Merlot

It was a Saturday night out on the dance floor. Me with a big smile on my face. You can never get too much of the feeling of a fun night out, surrounded by friends, all while working the perfect outfit.

The added bonus? For me, it was at the place where my journey truly began.

On that night two years before,-- IChardonnay Merlot, stepped out into the world for the first time.

I was alone, nervous, scared. I wasn't sure I was gonna go through with it.

My Heartbeat keeping time with the click-clack of heels on a parking lot.

Earlier that day, I was in a dressing room at a small shop maybe an hour away.

Looking in a mirror at me.

It was overload seeing myself in a way I'd always wanted to but never felt safe in doing.

And then I was told, "You really should consider going out tonight. There's nothing gained by hiding who you are."

I ended up going to a club that night. Nervous to the point of nausea.

"Don't be nervous honey, be out and be proud."

I met others like me that night.

A couple of weeks later, I was late to my first meeting with my support group and the group leader gave me the 'Don Rickles' treatment for being quite late, and then embraced me... as did the whole community.

The common denominator: Someone reached out.

I'm grateful for so many who have, mainly in a lot of small ways, from besties who call and Facebook me just to ask "how ya doin?" to those who have shared their experience and wisdom with me from the beginning.

Those first steps were tentative and nervous. Looking back I wonder how ever got the heart to take them.

It was because somebody took one second to tell me, "Live it. Learn it. Own it."

Because somebody took one second to show me how to use a foundation brush more efficiently.

Because someone spent an evening sharing their journey, their story, and was patient with me.

Because a group of people invited me in with open arms.

Because a group of people saw a shy scared person trying to find answers and they took me in.

Thanks to that, I've found a new peace, a new strength and have expanded my circle because of it. The journey feels a little less arduous and a lot less lonely, because from the beginning so many, in big ways and small, sent the most important message: "You are not alone."

Links & filler

I have had an uninspired week. Nothing really to talk about from my life with CDs but I DID read an article that was AWESOME couple. A transvestite & his Wife. A sweet beautiful loving couple in california. They had a write-up in LA Weekly! Below is a link to the article.

I'm pretty sure I read this on another blog about crossdressing. Here are a few links to other pages i frequent (some are crossdresser themed, some are art themed). I'm sure none of the CD blog owners even know this page exists...i'll reach out...eventually...maybe...

I have at least one interview on the back burner that hopefully I will get to this week. Also a friend & reader of this blog has written an article which will be posted soon as well.

Love Always,

Pirate Pebbs

P.S. I'll be at the GLBT Expo in NYC Next month in the Video Lounge with Appolonia Cruz! Check me out there if you'll be there as well :)

Messages from Readers #1

Since I started posting about my blog in various profiles that i've used for dating over the years, I gotten a few letters from readers…ok…more like comments from readers and I want to share some of them with you. I’m just gonna abbreviate their names or their screen names so as not to expose them w/o permission (if your screen name happens to be one of the abbreviations, it is simply unintentional). I will be posting more in upcoming posts. If you see your comment here and would like me to put your screen name or real name just email me at StraightCrossdressers@Gmail.com
These were left as messages in my OKCupid profile.

Enjoy!

4/18/2012- Hey, just a friendly message! As a straight guy who dresses up, I can appreciate your blog! Thanks honey!
-WB

5/17/2012- Hello, I read you blog and it's awesome! Immediate add to my reader. It's good to know there are well adjusted women out there who can appreciate people with my certain disposition. It makes me want to branch out and make a real attempt to find someone, but you are right. Nine times out of ten it doesn't go well and now I have resorted to telling new interests up front before the first date but usually it turns out there is no first date! lol. Anyway this is turning into a ramble. Thank you again.
-ER311

7/6/2012- Wow...you are in inspiration! :)
I am a straight man, and have been crossdressing for quite some time. Actually, I have not worn male underwear for about 5 years. Even at work, underneath my slacks, you will always find a pretty pair of panties. :)
I just thought about saying hello, and to thank you for being so open minded. I wish more people were like you.
Now excuse me while I go do my laundry, full of panties, stockings, and bras. :)
-CB

2/7/2013- I am a male crossdresser. Thank you for your kind words, and your blog. ITs very big of you to put a voice out there, and realize, most men are straight that do it. Thanks!
-SCT
9/165/2013- You sound like an amazing person!! It's gets exacerbating with women who automatically assume I'm gay or want a sex reassignment simply because I enjoy wearing makeup, dress and pantyhose!
So good to know women like you exist!
-RO123

10/29/2013- Just wanted to say I really dig the blog.

Interview with a Straight Crossdresser #4

This week we have an interview that I started 6 months ago and through a series of events going on in my life, I.... didn't finish. Now, thanks to their reminder, It has been finished.

This week we interview 18 year old Victoria from Whittier, California.
**************************************************************
*Victoria in the white satin top.
Pebbles: About when did you become interested in or start crossdressing?

Victoria: I started around the age of 10 with my moms bras and slips, but then stopped once I got into middle school. After that I didn’t really start doing it again until 2011, my junior year of high school and that's when I started buying my own clothes and creating 'Victoria'.

Pebbles: Where did you go to buy your first items of clothing?

Victoria: eBay, the first item I ever bought was a white satin top. In fact it’s the one I'm wearing in my profile pic*

Pebbles: Very cool!

Pebbles: Have you ever been 'caught' crossdressing? If so, by who? What was the outcome?

Victoria: I have been caught with the items (clothes, wigs and such) in my room by my mom and she's confused by it but she never really confronts me about it. But caught fully crossdressed? No not yet thank goodness

Pebbles: I hear ya!

Pebbles: Does any of your family know you 'dress'?

Victoria: Yes, my cousins Janelle, Marissa and Jessie, whom I'm close with know about it and are very supportive. Janelle and I are especially close and we often exchange christmas gifts. I just came out to her a few months before and she got me an e.l.f makeup kit!

Pebbles: AWESOME!!! I love the family involvement!

Pebbles: Have you ever gone out crossdressed in public?

Victoria: Yes, yes many times. Since going to college I have gone out in public on campus, to the nearby business and around my neighborhood, with some special memories on a few occasions.

Pebbles: Care to share a memory?

Victoria: Oh, there's so many. So I'll share a small sample a few. Going out crossed for the first time outside of campus to the real world; Going to 7/11 and 'Stater Bros' all due to my professor. Halloween: Going to a salon, getting my wig done and going to class startling my classmates who couldn't believe it was me.
Going to get a pedicure with a friend of mine and being treated like two princesses.
And sneaking an outfit into a family christmas party and showing my cousins ‘Victoria’. So many precious memories in only 4 months of going out dressed in public!

Pebbles: WOW!!! Those are some Great moments! Thank you for sharing.

Pebbles: Did anyone teach you how to apply makeup? Do you have someone do it for you? Are you learning/ have you learned through youtube vids?

Victoria: Nope, self taught. But for me its easy since I really just do eye shadow, foundation and lipstick when go out. I really don't do elaborate makeup like other crossdressers. Only when my cousin Janelle gave me the e.l.f makeup did someone else do my makeup for me.

Pebbles: That's cool. You don't need to go all out make-up crazy. In fact, for the most part, less is more.

Pebbles:Do/Have you worn fake nails or nail polish?

Victoria: I haven't worn fake nails yet, but I have worn nail polish. I get my nails painted everytime I go for a pedicure.

Pebbles: Awesome!

Pebbles: Are you 'Passing' or is it your goal to be passing? If so would you go out in public crossdressed regularly?

Victoria: I always want to pass because it makes me feel good and empowered. I honestly think I could do a little more to pass better, but I think I pass at a good enough level. Although even if I didn't I would still go out because I love going on adventures.

Pebbles: That’s cool.

Pebbles: Do you tuck & Shave when you crossdress?

Victoria: I shave my face and neck every time before I go out. So much so I actually got an electric razor for christmas. I do tuck but very lazily and not super convincingly.

Pebbles: What makes you want to crossdress? How does it make you feel?

Victoria: Feeling pretty and alive makes me want to crossdress. I love the feeling of lipstick and gloss on my lips, how beautiful I look when I put my wig on and inspecting myself in the mirror. I feel elated and happy when I crossdress, just the feeling of satin and sandals give me a feeling of calm and contentment that nothing else can make me feel.

Pebbles: Ideally what percentage of your time would you prefer to be 'dressed'? Like...if it was a month. 50% dressed, more/less?

Victoria: Haha, that's a good question. I mean I LOVE dressing up and I would be Victoria 100% of the time if I could. But at the same time I like being a guy and not having to act prim and proper. I kind of compare to an experience had at my high school's football games. I would love looking at the cheerleaders because they were so attractive and beautiful, but at the same time I would long to be one of them cheering on the sideline in uniform and makeup waving my pom-poms around in white shoes. So even though Victoria would love to be out all the time, she can get nudged aside pretty quickly.

Pebbles: lol! So, more like 50/50-ish or more like, 'when the mood sets me'?

Victoria: 50/50 I suppose, lol. A long analogy to get to a simple answer, haha

Pebbles: lol, its a good one though

Pebbles: Are you currently dating anyone? If so, does she know?

Victoria: No,  I'm currently single.

Pebbles: Have you had one since you started crossdressing?

Victoria: Thank you and no I haven't dated yet since becoming Victoria.

Pebbles: Well, I'm sure that will change.

Pebbles: Is there anything else you would like the public to know about you? Or do you have an interesting story to share?

Pebbles: By the way, looking at your pictures, You are ADORABLE!!!

Victoria: Thank you so much. Yes, I would just like to thank all of the people who had helped me over the past few months. My English/Speech professor Ms. Maya Staylor actually help me go out in public for the first time (outside campus) and was always welcoming when I came visit as Victoria, I owe her a lot for encouraging me to become Victoria and I enjoy every moment of it. I would also like to thank Lihn, the stylist who does my wigs, she is so welcoming and sweet everytime I go and makes me look so beautiful, I encourage any crossdresser in the Walnut area (in California) to visit her at Newen's Beauty Salon (909)910-623 Tues, Thurs. And finally I'd like to my friends and family for being so encouraging of Victoria and letting me gush over my adventures as her.

Pebbles: AWESOME!!! I'm so glad you have such a GREAT support system! Thank You for interviewing with me!

So ladies, Victoria is also single and looking. If you’re in the Whittier Area of California and are interested in conversing with Victoria, you can send an email to StraightCrossdressers@gmail.com with your name age and reply email (a picture wouldn’t hurt as well, I mean, you see Victoria right here) and I will pass the info to Victoria.

Until next time, Have fun & stay safe!
Victoria's First time out!

What is Normal?

So, I would like to let you all know that I appreciate all who view my blog & send me email letting me know how much you appreciate my efforts. I think every one of you are special unique individuals! whether you be the curious first time reader or the reader of everything I write (sorry i don't update often enough) I think you are all the best.

One thing that I find odd. There seems to be...elitist crossdressers out there. CDs who think they're better than other CDs for some reason. For example the Very passing adult type of crossdressers putting down the lolita (aka young style) crossdressers. I know adult GGs who like to dress in lolita style, no one talks bad about them...ok maybe some (non anime fans) do but for anime fans its a non issue. Or the Make-up CDs vs the No Make-up CDs. Does it matter that some wanna Put on make-up and really girl themselves up and they are still as straight a man as a non dressing man or another man who dresses in women's clothing and doesn't wear make-up?

I understand that what is our own 'normal' may be abnormal to someone else but, can't we acknowledge each others differences without putting each other down? I know its hard. Most of us grow up thinking what happened in our family growing up is what happened in other families. They watched the same tv shows & listened to the same, or similar music. Then we, lets say, go to college. Meet people our own age from different parts of the country or world and talk about our family lives and realize that our 'normal' is not everyone's normal. You may find out that your 'normal' was a bit rougher than other people's normal. Maybe your friends would have loved to have had your normal while you hated your 'normal'. We meet every day with people whose life choices we wouldn't have made yet do we constantly put them down for it? For example. You make friends with someone at work. You normally only see them during working hours and never have lunch at the same time. One day you have lunch together and find out your new friend is Vegan and you are a proud Omnivore who is nearly a total carnivore! Do you put your friend down just because they don't eat meat (or vice versa)? Will you constantly tell them they are wrong because their choice of food is different from your own? You both still eat vegetables (you both still wear clothing meant for the opposite gender). You both enjoy each others company outside the lunchroom. Why is it so difficult to deal with them not eating the same exact foods (clothing style) as you? It shouldn't make a difference. It doesn't make you a bad person because you eat meat. It doesn't make you a bad person because you don't eat meat.

So, yeah. The crossdressing community is quite varied. A Rainbow of shades of grey. Lets try not to put each other down. Don't put down the Adult Babies. Don't put down the Lolitas/ the ones who like to wear young kids styles of clothing. Don't put down those who wear make-up. Don't put down those who wear no make-up. Don't put down the dudes in dresses who sport a full beard. Don't put down the ones who just like to wear womens underwear under their clothes. How bout just embracing people's differences whether you would dress as they would or not.

Thats all I have to say for now.

I love you all,

Pirate Pebbs!

Raven 14

This time I was able to bring one of my GG friends along for Saturday. Its nice to have more genetic girls in attendance who support t-girls. But Raven weekend starts on Fridays. On Friday Paula & I drove up to the hotel that the meet & greet was at. After changing rooms once we got Paula's makeup on & got her all dolled up. This time i got the make-up on her pretty well. I implemented something i had heard cosmetologists talk about as far as shading. It all worked well. We went to the meet & greet and saw some of our old friends and met some new ones. We had a really good time and retired just a few steps from the meet & greet to the hotel room, way better than driving for an hour + to go home. Next day had continental breakfast then I was off to pick up my GG friend, Felixia, from philly. Picked her up then headed to the franklin mills mall. I still had Nothing to wear to the main event. Saturday is the red carpet, dinner & dancing. Stopped in JCPenny (I work in the portrait studio of a JCP so I has discount whoot!) Found the perfect dress & accessories and even a dress for my kid (awesome!)! We headed back to New Hope. Paula started on her makeup before we got there (as planned) so I only had to finish the work. Paula was sooooooooooooo excited to wear the dress I made for her. We all got ourselves together (a bit later than we should have cause we had plenty of time, oops) we got there still with red carpet time. Paula showed off her awesome dress. Looked beautiful! Like the prom princess of Raven 14. She got shoes just for the red carpet....then off they came cause they were super uncomfortable, but like they say, beauty is pain.
After the red carpet was dinner. Food was awesome, as usual at Raven. Marty was there again this time, but not our waiter (yes I have total waiter favouritism). Still had a bit of a chat with him. Awesome person, you should totally chat w/him if you meet him. Next off to the dance floor. I...had to consume a few amaretto sours before I could dance (I have a bit of dancing shyness). Had a few drinks, danced and made some new friends. Saw more GG/CD couples this time than before, which I thought was awesome! Also met a girl named Samantha (who a couple weeks later we, Paula, Jerome and myself took out to the mall to shop for girl clothes), who was very sweet. Also spent a good half hour or so chatting with Mercury. Kinda made tentative plans to hang out...never panned out. Maybe next time. Sunday morning we met with Jackie at the breakfast spot at the eagle diner. This time with Paula in guy mode. (We saw a few of the other girls in guy mode as well) We had a nice conversation & a nice breakfast there. Next we headed off home after a fun weekend. All in all I always have fun at the Raven weekends. The Next Raven is June 1st. I already am bringing 1 other Genetic Girl who is interested in dating crossdressers. Hopefully she'll find the girl of her dreams there. I'm hoping to bring a few other girls. We'll see.

I Love you ALL!

Sorry I’ve been away…Sometimes Life Happens

So yeah, sometimes life happens and I don’t get around to posting. Sometimes I’m sick, sometimes I’m stressed, sometimes I’m running around doing everything yet nothing, sometimes I’m spending time with my daughter, sometimes gardening, sometimes typing run on sentences…sometimes I’m just lazy and doing nothing cause I can. So here’s a lil update on me.
I just got a new car!!! …ok New to me. It’s a 2009 Elantra. You may recall that I was in a car accident about 8 months back. I’d been in rental cars and borrowing cars for work. Insurance company…sucked majorly. I had to get a lawyer to get my insurance company to do their job….yeah….not fun. American Independent, worst insurance company ever! Ok, back to the present-ish.
I also have a new camera because my old camera pretty much died. As you will see when I post the very few pics I took at the last Raven party (which I still need to blog about). The camera started dying at the end of a Raven party…so, yeah. So, now I pretty much have what I need to do more freelance photography, so that’s good at least.
Let’s see…My garden is doing well, strawberries starting to flower, Kale is still alive, I think this is year 3 for them! I have much chocolate mint…and other things that no one cares about but me. My job has been veryyyyyyyyyyy part time for a long time so I’m also actively looking for other employment or a 2nd job. Hopefully I can just do freelance to make ends meet.
Shopping has been happening. Just the other day Paula, Jerome & I took a girl going through transition shopping for girl clothes out in a mall for the first time. That was fun.
I’ve been wanting to do a video blog post for a while. Every time I’m ready to do it something comes up to prevent me from actually filming. Random stuff…I’ll get it done eventually. I’ve been working on a logo design as well.
I also co-host &/or photograph at Dr. Thunder Karaoke in Philadelphia. Lots of my nights are full of singing. One of my CD friends in Wisconsin decided to give me an awesome gift, a brand new Corset from Corset story!!! That should be coming in within the next few days. He wants me to do corset waist training with him. Will Do! I’ve been friends with him since about January last year. I really do appreciate it J. I wish there were something I could do for him but…I guess I’m doing what I can right now by blogging and talking to all my CD friends letting them know that it’s OK to crossdress. There are totally accepting females who are somewhere out there waiting for them.
Back when I decided I wanted to start dating crossdressers I had no idea where to look. Most women who are into crossdressers don’t usually go out actively seeking them. Because I did I found sooooooooo many beautiful men out there. Lots of them have great personalities. Most are totally non-creepy. Most are respectful. Most I’d totally hang out with offline if they were local. Most were not local. One local CD though, I have had the pleasure of getting to know for the past year. I’ve been seeing him (mostly non-exclusively) for the past year. It’s been quite a nice experience. Way better than I’d expected. I had planned on doing another separate blog about the crossdressers I’d seen & dated but…well…I don’t even keep up with this blog so, who am I kidding? I won’t keep up with that. Maybe I’ll add some tidbits here & there about those few individuals. Won’t use names but if they’re reading, they’d know I was talking about them. Wow! This post is going everywhere. Well. I haven’t posted in a while and have had a lot on my mind. I think I’ll end it here-ish.

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Happy Valentines Day 2013

So, it'll probably be after V-day when you all see this, sorry. I've been sick. I just wanted to give a warm shout out to everyone out there. I also wanted to quote RuPaul and myself with this next pic and what I copy & paste below it from the Facebook page associated with this page:

RuPaul has been saying those words forever and they are true. Some people get into relationships not loving themselves and hoping the other person validates their existence. You can't go in that way; it will ultimately fail. Everyone gets depressed, sad and lonely, its no reason to hate yourself. Realize that you are worth it. You are worth your love and additionally you will be worth someone elses. It all starts with you. If you crossdress, realize its not shameful. you can crossdress and love yourself. If you can let your light shine no matter what you're wearing, people will see that. Show your happy glow on the outside and people will notice...maybe (hopefully) the right people. The people who won't judge you for wearing what makes you feel happy. So love yourselves, then love others, you will get some love back. May not be today, may not be next week but it'll happen. If no one else, Pirate Pebbs Loves You!!!

I was shown some Love today. I had a special valentine this year (first time in many years, believe it or not), you all know her as Paula. Paula (guy mode version, but i shall continue using girl name and pronouns for continuity's sake) got me a vase of flowers (including in the mix my fav flower the Stargazer Lilly) Brunch in bed (cause i've been sick and haven't left the house all week) from a favie restaurant Riverwinds (I highly recommend the place, found it from restaurant.com so if you're looking to gain loyalty as a restaurateur it works. They no longer use restaurant.com but we still go and I wish I were getting paid or free food for recommending them) and the ultimate gift for a girl like me...a new(-ish) X-Box 360!!! (i say new-ish cause its the refurbished older style 360 but exactly what i wanted cause i have a hard drive with all my saved games and i didn't wanna lose my saves and start all over again with games & extras i had) So all of that stuff made for a pretty happy v-day for me :) I...made Paula some jewelry and gave her a framed pic of us. Pics below, they're cell phone pix...i'm sick didn't feel like getting my swanky camera :p

I didn't take a pic of the framed pic, but it was in a black frame and I wrote 'Happy Valentines Day 2013' on it. Was nice. I am confident that a day will come where all my pretty GM (who like to dress en fem) ISO GG's will find who they are looking for. :)

Pirate Pebbs Loves you ALL!!!

Raven 13 part 3 - finale...finally

Raven 13 part 1
Raven 13 part 2
**************************
Thanks to that full bottle of wine I didn't need any other liquid courage all night. We danced a bit. Met a couple of other GG/TV couples I hadn't seen there previously. Also saw a couple I had met there before. Had a brief chat with Maureen, whom I met at a previous Raven event, also had a chat with a couple where their family all know about his crossdressing for the past 6 years!!! I think that’s pretty awesome!  There were a good deal of people attending for the first time and having such a great time. I didn't have my friend there this time to take pictures so I have less than I’d like to have had. Ah well. Got to be 2am, everyone either went home or to their rooms to either sleep or party more.

The next morning we went to meet up for breakfast at the nearby Eagle Diner. There were a few people from the Raven event, at least 2 rather large tables and several smaller tables had faces I recognized from the night before. Some of the gurls were in girl mode and a few were in guy mode. Paula and I sat at one of the rather large tables surrounded by people we knew either by face or name. I sat next to an older woman I had met a few times before named Jackie. I thought Jackie was a GG supporter of T-Girls, like myself. But as I was chatting with her she mentioned herself being ‘dad’. I was floored!!! I HAD No Idea! I didn't (or at least tried) not to express my shock, in a good way. She is totally passing!!! She is also very sweet & a wiz in the kitchen. I LOVE to hear other people’s stories and she had many. Stories were told of the ex-wife (who didn't cook very well), kids and even grandkids. The grandkids know her as Aunt Jackie, which I think is cute. When they get much older and start asking questions I guess they’ll get the answers then, but for now Aunt Jackie will do. Also at our table was the Dancing Queen Linda, a few men… men…er… Men who don’t dress…I guess. Also at our table was our wonderful event host Jen!!! But…not dressed as Jen. She was in guy mode. Ok, so Paula and I were wondering what Jen looked like in guy mode. Neither of us could imagine. Actually, for a while I thought she’d already went under the knife and was full time girl but I was told that she went to work male. So my mind was kinda blown seeing her w/o boobs, wig & make-up I guess. She was still Jen. Same voice, same attitude, same zeal for life. She just looked a bit different. I saw a few others out of their girl clothes at breakfast. It was a nice time. We talked about maybe having a flag football game at another Raven weekend. That would totally be a fun thing to do, maybe a Friday afternoon in the spring or summer. We all had out meal and had a good time eating and laughing together. Then it was time to go.

The thing I like is that there are girls who go to the Raven who are at every stage of…T-Girl-ness. You have the girls Dressing and going out for the first time, girls who just like to dress up and go out who have no interest in transitioning, girls who would like to transition but because of their significant other are not. There are girls who have transitioned who are still with their spouse who are working on seeing if this life will work out for them. There are girls fully transitioned and looking for a significant other of their own, be their preference male or female…or another t-girl. I love that, though not everyone necessarily knows where everyone else is on the spectrum of things, everyone respects one another enough that no one is ever put down for being one way or another or having a gender preference etc. …Though I did hear that one girl’s spouse was disrespected by being inappropriately touched by a couple of the gurls… that totally was not cool. From what I hear this was an isolated event, I’d never been harassed in that way but I, being a natural born GG don’t go around grabbing other girls bums. It’s not cool to do to someone you hardly know.

That being said, the weekend was fun. I met new people and hope to talk to them more in the future. Next time I think I’ll see if I can gather email addys and get a conversation going that way. Maybe have a few more interviews under my belt and on to my page. It seems my 1 ‘interview with a straight crossdresser’ is the most popular post on my blog. I plan on doing a year in review for 2012 blog posting soon.

Laterz!

Raven 13 part 2

Raven 13 part 1
******************************
I got very little sleep that night. Got up early to greet my sis when she arrived at my house. Hang out with her for a bit then we went to an early lunch (brunch) at RiverWinds in NJ. Awesome food, service & atmosphere there. I always enjoy meals there. Try the calamari, they make the absolute best!!!
After Brunch with the sis, Paula and I stopped by a JCPennys and got a few things we needed…I think stockings were the major needed item. We also looked at the clearance jewelry. can’t remember if we got anything else. Back into the car to drive up to New Hope.

We got there…maybe around 2 or 3pm and started to get Paula ready first (as usual). I did similar makeup as the previous day but used lighter grey on the eyelids. Because of the way Paula’s dress was cut and the corset being cut the way it was, Paula’s faux boobs couldn't fit in the dress without showing through. I decided we’d try to create cleavage using make-up. I didn't have the right kind of make-up so I improvised. It didn't come out as good as expected but, looking at the pictures, it did have a bit of the desired effect. On went the corset and then the hair. Paula really like everything about the hair on the previous day so I duplicated it in a more secure way than the day before (I couldn't fine more than 2 bobby-pins on Friday). I got the hair pinned up securely with many pins. While Paula finished getting herself ready, I worked on me. I had to iron my Lehenga Choli cause…well…I didn't have it properly hanging so it was very wrinkled. I decided on wearing false eyelashes that had rhinestones on it. I said, out loud, “If these don’t stick the first time I’m not wearing them”. They must have wanted to be worn cause they went on quite easily. I used this gold make-up…stick thing (that I got from the dollar store a few months ago) on my eyes and lips. It’s the type where you can use it wet or dry. I usually use it wet. It’s more opaque when used wet, it’s more of a shimmer when dry. I didn't do much with my make-up. I bobby pinned my tikka into my hair. Pinned my hair up a bit got dressed and we got out and to the Red Carpet before it was over!!! Red carpet is from 4:30pm until 7:30pm. I think we got there around 6:45pm. We met our friend Jen and she was quite surprised to see that we actually made it out to the red carpet. We had our pictures taken on the red carpet with our friends. I…forgot to get a red carpet shot alone. Ah well. There are pictures of me sharing the spotlight with others.

I met a lovely lady there…whose name I have forgotten (Maybe Jennifer…why am I so bad w/ names???) She was tall and passing! She wondered why I was there. I told her cause I like crossdressers. She seemed quite pleased with my answer. She said she had previously believed herself to be a straight crossdresser but was recently also interested in males. She was quite interesting. She told me about how she used to wear wigs and how once the wig is on she is ‘Jennifer’. Then she decided to grow her hair out. Once there is no wig/you’re always in the wig where does ‘guy type’ stop and ‘girl type’ begin? It’s kind of perplexing. I’d love to talk to her more about her views on herself etc. I told her about my blog and wrote down my blog address…maybe I should have gotten her email? Ah well, hopefully I’ll see her again at another event and we can chat more. I ran into some other friends there. Allie came in wearing this awesome black dress with red shoes; she looked as fashionable as ever. I met another GG there who is dating a crossdresser. Her Gurl couldn’t make it that night but she still came with another friend. She made her complete outfit. The dress, which looked awesome & awesome on her, her hair accessories, the works and for the life of me…I can’t remember her name either *sigh*. I also met Lisa’s lovely lovely spouse. She was very sweet. I got to chat with her a little bit; hopefully I can chat with her more some other time. Lisa was so much happier at this Raven than the last one I saw her at. I think maybe having the love of her life there was the reason. Sometimes it’s lonely not having the one you love nearby. I can’t say for sure why she didn’t seem very happy at the last one, I didn't feel it was my place to ask, I was just glad to see her so happy at this one. After a few more pictures it was time to head over to the Raven for dinner.

We had our dinner reservations set for 7:45pm I believe. We arrived there about 7:25pm and asked if we could be seated early and we were able to. The Host there was looking awesome as usual. This evening he was wearing all white with diamond-esque embellishments on his tall white hat (kinda like the nutcracker styled only with white faux fur) and was wearing a big diamond-esque rhinestone necklace. It turns out he was a creator of costumes (awesome!). I like being crafty as well. Maybe at some point I’ll make something from scratch to wear to a Raven event. We were seated and I decided on having wine…a whole bottle of wine. When I thought about it, it was cheaper than getting several separate glasses of wine and I usually don’t change wines glass to glass. Whereas Paula…is not a drinker so…More wine for me, Whoot! After we ordered we mingled a bit with some of the girls there. Went to a few tables, made some new acquaintances, talked to a few people we had met earlier that night and the night before. At the table behind ours was a girl who was attending their first Raven event. She had a makeover by a make-up artist who often comes to make over girls who request the service. She does great work. Nikki looked great. She seemed to be enjoying herself very much. As I looked around the room I spotted a couple I had seen before who I’d only seen for dinner, usually they were leaving just after I got there (we were always running late) I wanted to talk to them… they were wearing the cutest dresses J I mentioned in my previous post about this encounter (here) finished up dinner and headed to the dance floor.
